About Artist-in-Residence Program
Gallery Jolrong thinks that it is their responsibility to promote Bangladesh Art and Artists as much as they can. That’s why Jolrong started this residency program for talented artists who have already shown potentiality and creativity in their artworks and need space and support for expose their creativity to the world.
Gallery Jolrong provides studio facilities, art materials, food and accommodation for the Artists during residency program for two to four week as per discussion. Not only that, Gallery also arrange an Open Studio day at the end of the program and 7 to 14 days long art exhibition at Gallery premises with the artworks produced by the artists during residency program.

Artist Nazir Hossain
Young and Promising artist Nazir Hossain has selected for the first residency program at Gallery Jolrong. He has been working in Jolrong studio for 14 days. This residency program will be end up by an open studio day on January 25 at 5pm.
A self-trained artist Nazir Hossain is the talented child of Parbatipur, situated in the northern region of Bangladesh. He did not have the opportunity to avail formal Education of Fine Arts, though he has the passion for painting since his early years. His love for arts made him adopt desperate measures to come to Dhaka in 2003, in the hope of achieving success by culturing his talent. The most important features of his work is the presence of ’The Tiger of Bengal’ in all his work. He has been constantly spinning his world of artistry by the symbolic use of the tiger, in the patterns of ‘The Nakshikantha (The traditional quilt) in his own special manner.
